I was killing a bit of time before a meeting. We'd been looking for a paved are, in good condition for a chapter event. My Google searches had got weirder and weirder as I tried to find recently abandoned airfields. Found quite a few along the norther shores of lake Erie. All but one or two were grass landing strips. Not the sort of thing we were looking for - but there were a lot of them.
I stumbled on a listing for a flight mseum. They had a decent sized static display and were on the location of a previous open and busy airport very near Dunville. What the heck, I've been known to visit a few airports and airplane collections. I clicked. Seems like a nice place, not very large but large enough.
I started to expand the Google Maps image of their driveway and front entrance.
Wow. The things you find playing around with Google Maps.
Once upon a time, this was a significant track with some 13 miles of paved roadway. With twist and turns, easily configured differently.
