ACNA Eastern Canada Leaders & Team
Gordon
President
My experience with Audi Club NA has been fulfilling and defining over the last, geez, 12 years. I've met so many people, attended and facilitated many events and undertakings across Canada and the US.
Having dinner with Daniel Weissland and meeting and talking with Tom Kristensen are two highlights. I'm just as happy helping out a new enthusiast, (esp if with an Audi MK1 TT).
Fastest street-legal car I've ever driven - Crazy Alex's RS7, in Toronto, in the winter!
(Crazy) Alex
Executive Director - Communications
My involvement with ACEC leadership just kinda evolved A couple of years ago, I had a great conversation with Gordon and joined the club immediately. I’ts been great, really has.
I grew up as a VW nerd (still am) then I started building Audis in my thirties. 20+ years later, I’m more ‘Audi-addicted’ than ever. I was recently invited to join the senior team. I'm honoured and excited to help grow the club and boost the performance of my Audis.

Our History in Canada
Around the turn of the millennium, a few of us met to discuss our Audis. Next time was on the Grand Prix Circuit at Mosport in November 2002. Richard Marais of The Motoring Foundation organized the outing. Richard was originally from South Africa and invited another South African, Desiré Wilson, the first woman to win a Formula One Championship race, to join us.
Saturday was on the cold side, but doable. Sunday, the track had 10 cm of snow. Doing avoidance exercises in the paddock area. Desiré learned something: snow tires do make a difference. She had the chance to drive four different A4s with summer, all-season and snow tires. She called her husband in Colorado and told him to get snow tires for her BMW X5. We had a blast driving the Grand Prix Circuit: a four-wheel drift through turn two at 35 kph was an experience.
Kirk Kiloh, a board member from ACNA HQ and founder of the Kansas City Chapter, was there. He liked what he saw: a group of Audi owners having fun with their Audis. Shortly after, we were invited to join ACNA.
Our Volunteers are Great and Make us Better
Let's start with a bit about us if you're considering helping out...
The Audi Club NA - Eastern Canada leadership is a small(ish), motivated group. As a registered not-for-profit organization, we have elected leadership and follow club head-office approved bylaws, and report to the Audi Club North America board. Revenue is managed, and our leadership is not paid. We choose to follow the CANADIAN CODE FOR VOLUNTEER INVOLVEMENT.
If you have as little as an hour a week or are open to a greater undertaking (which may be an idea of your own), reach out to me at gordon.varney@audiclubna.ca. We're especially interested in people in the Ottawa area, Montreal/Quebec, and Halifax.
